Black Hats

Black hats are people who gain access to your wireless network. Once there, they can copy software or files from computers with file sharing turned on. This is all done without your knowledge or permission.

Avoiding and Preventing Wireless Threats

1. Change default password on router.

2. Turn on WPA/WEP encryption

3. Change the default SSID

4. Enable MAC Address Filtering

5. Disable SSID Broadcast

6. Turn off Network during extended periods of non usage
